Adam B. Reed & Associates, a growing personal injury law firm dedicated to treating clients like family, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a proactive mindset, and is detail-oriented. You will play a critical role in supporting attorneys by managing legal tasks, overseeing case progress, and ensuring the efficient operation of our office.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Assist in managing personal injury cases from start to resolution, ensuring progress is timely and clients are kept informed. Supervise junior legal staff to ensure high-quality work is completed on time.
Document Preparation: Draft, file, and maintain legal documents, including demands, petitions, discovery responses, motions, and settlement agreements.
Pre-Litigation Support: Initiate files, distribute letters of representation, facilitate client treatment, and monitor readiness for litigation or demand.
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries under attorney guidance.
Scheduling & Calendaring: Manage appointments, deadlines, court hearings, and depositions.
Correspondence & Communication: Communicate with attorneys, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and other parties to ensure deadlines are met and all stakeholders are informed.
Trial Preparation: Prepare trial materials, including notebooks, exhibits, and witness schedules.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma required; some college preferred.
Experience: Familiarity with personal injury law, including torts, negligence, and liability.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Clio or other legal case management software is a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and outstanding organizational abilities.
Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
Work Style: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: Starting at $19.00, based on experience.
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts.
